          Marie Taglioni was born in in Stockholm, Sweden, in a dancing family.

          Her father, the Italian Filippo Taglioni, was a well-known dancer and choreographer, with a brother, Salvatore Taglioni, who was a dance master in Naples, Italy.

          On the other hand her mother, Sophie Karsten, daughter of the noted singer Christopher Karsten, was an actor and dancer too.
