Mrs. Bennet hopes that Mr. Bingley will be a potential suitor for one of her daughters.
She desperately wants her husband to visit him, hoping that will spark an acquaintance. Mr. Bennet remains aloof, however, and refuses to commit. His attitude infuriates his wife, whose primary life concern is finding husbands for her daughters.
